Ensemble

Since the very beginning, in order to bringing alive the reach and varied medieval repertory, the members of laReverdie considered crucial to both sing and play several instruments. With this purpose, they have developed a common language and sound that rend them unmistakable both for the mixture of their voices as well as of their instruments.

Along the over 36 years of research, laReverdie has ranged from the liturgical chant to the first examples of polyphony, from the Italian and French Ars nova to the complex Franco-Flemish polyphony of Quattrocento, deepening also the practice of improvisation, also in dialog with instruments of other cultures.

The group is regularly invited to perform in Festivals and Concert Seasons in Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, England, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary, Mexico.

Concerts of laReverdie has been recorded and broadcasted on Radio3 (Italy), Süddeutscher Rundfunk, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Südwest Rundfunk e Westdeutscher Rundfunk (Germany), BRT3, Radio Klara (Belgium), France Musique (France), ORF 1 (Austria), Antenna 2 (Portugal), Rne e RTVE (Spain), Radio2 (Poland), Radio Televizija Slovenja (Slovenia), Espace2 (Switzerland), KRO Radio4 (Netherlands).

They have recorded twenty Cds, for ARCANA/Outhere Music - most of which in co-produced by the German radio company WDR - which have received various awards from the European press, such as the Diapason d’Or de l’Année 1993 which has launched the ensemble’s career. The last three CDs have got the nomination at the International Classical Music Awards (2010, 2014, 2019) in the category Early Music. From the wide recorded repertoire by laReverdie, in 2007 has been collected the Cd dedicated to the Middle Ages for the ‘I Classici della Musica’, published by the Italian press Corriere della Sera.

In May 2022 has been released a new Cd, "Lux Laetitiae".

In recent years, songs recorded by laReverdie have been chosen for some soundtracks and in 2021 the ensemble was invited to record an original song for the film Across the River and Into the Trees, directed by Paola Ortiz.

The ensemble has collaborated, in special projects, with Franco Battiato, Moni Ovadia, Carlos Nuñez, Teatro del Vento, Gerard Depardieu, Mimmo Cuticchio, David Riondino and Christophe Deslignes.
