Livia Caffagni

Graduated cum laude in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Bologna with a thesis in Gregorian Semiology, and earned a diploma in recorder with the highest of honors at the Conservatory of Bologna. 

During the years 1987-1989 she worked as a researcher at the Institute of Musicology of the University of Bern (Switzerland). In 2007 she obtained an Academic Diploma with honors in Renaissance Music Studies at the Conservatory of Lecce. She has also published articles in specialized journals such as Studi Gregoriani (1990), Scuola e Didattica (1990-93), Musica Antica (1998) and Vox Antiqua (2013). 

Since 2003 she is professor of recorder at the Conservatory of Trent. 

In 2021 she edited the documentary on the original recorders from the Valdrighi-Setti Collection of the Museo Civico of Modena, as part of the "Instromenti Musicalissimi" project sponsored by the Emilia Romagna Region.

In addition to her intensive concert activity as a soloist specialized in both Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, she has regularly collaborated in the research, performance and teaching activities of La Reverdie since its inception in 1986.
